NutriPure Beverages, Inc. is focused on growth and diversification in
the multi-billion dollar healthy food / healthy water industries.
NutriPure's wholly owned subsidiary XND Technologies, Inc. is bringing
to market a complete line of nutrient-enhanced bottled water products
under the NU2O label. Nu2O products will include a vitamin enhanced
water for general health, a diet formulation for weight watchers, an
immune booster, an energy and fitness drink, and additional
formulations to be announced later.
Nu2O products will be the
first and only premium nutrient-enhanced bottled water products to be
produced using a revolutionary cold-filling process that enables the
adding of organic nutrients while retaining the appearance and taste of
pure water. This concept is unique because no other producer adds
organic nutrients without also adding masking flavors, colors or
sweeteners. NU2O products will contain no calories, no carbohydrates,
no colors and no flavors other than pure water. NutriPure?s patented
cold-fill process gives it several marketing advantages over its
competitors: (1) This process costs 30% less than the standard hot-fill
process, which translates directly to greater bottom line profits; (2)
Cold-filling enhances the bioavailability of the ingredients, prevents
biodegradation, and allows beverages to be bottled at neutral pH,
thereby creating a more healthful product without altering the taste of
the water, and (3) This process allows NutriPure to use the claims
"natural", "organic", and "no preservatives" on its packaging and
marketing materials. Consumer testing indicates that public awareness
sees Nu2O in a special category of its own, somewhere between
SmartWater and VitaminWater.
The company plans to initially launch three formulations under the Nu2O
label, with three additional formulations scheduled to be introduced
after the second quarter of operations. Distribution is scheduled to
begin in the Southwest U.S during the first half of 2009 and to expand
nationwide and internationally over the following six to eight months,
contingent upon finalization of funding and staffing requirements.
MIT is a California-based public company that has developed and patented a rapid
microbial ID system that can revolutionize the pathogenic ID process and
annually save thousands of lives and tens of millions of dollars. The System IDs
bacteria in minutes, not days, and at a significant per test cost savings when
compared to any conventional method. Revenues for all rapid testing methods
exceed $5 billion annually -- with food safety accounting for over $3 billion --
having expanded at a rate of 9.2 percent each year since 1998. Current growth
projections are at 30 percent annually with test demands driven by major health,
safety and homeland security issues.
The System is laser and optically based and uses the proven principles of light
scattering in conjunction with proprietary PC-based software algorithms to ID
microbes and create a proprietary database. MIT, through independent testing,
has proven the ability with high accuracy to ID the most dangerous and pervasive
pathogens; E. coli, Listeria, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus (a.k.a.
Staph) and twenty (20) other species of bacterium.
The MIT 1000 System has numerous ID applications including food quality control,
clinical diagnostics, pharmaceutical quality assurance, semiconductor processing
control and water quality monitoring. MIT has chosen to focus initial efforts on
food quality control as recent events have created an urgent demand for quicker
and cheaper testing -- demands that will promote a high-value return on any
investment in MIT's technology.
